Description
The Leopard I was the first combat tank developed and produced in Germany after World War II. The clever concept was well received and gave the Leopard I an international reputation. In the course of the Cold War, the international arms race kept gaining speed, which led to a call for further development of the tank in the 1960s. The result was the Leopard II combat tank. In 1965, a study called “Gilded Leopard” was developed, featuring significant improvements of the combat strength of the Leopard I. Now, 55 years later, we are seizing the opportunity to present a “gilded” version of our successful Boker Leopard-Damascus III 42, which has gained enthusiastic fans over the years thanks to its blade made from gun barrel steel. The blade of the Boker Leopard-Damascus III Gold 42 consists of 300 layers of hand-forged Leopard Damascus steel exclusively gold-plated. All parts including blade and handle screws, spacers, liners, clip and clip plate are also gold-plated. The repositionable clip (tip-up/tip-down) allows for convenient carry options. The blade is secured with a 1.5 mm thick linerlock. The high-quality inlay consists of unigold, a composite material of carbon fiber and brass powder. It is made by Fat Carbon Materials and creates a perfect harmony with the gold-plated Damascus blade and CNC-milled handle scales of hardcoat-anodized AlMgSi1 aluminum. Each knife from this special edition is an elegant combination of history and modern technology. Completely handmade by Boker in Solingen. Each knife has an individual serial number and comes with a certificate of authenticity and an exclusive floating display.
