Description
Whether for the cosy warm fire in the fireplace at home or the campfire in front of the tent – the practical Boker Plus Appalachian Origin Mini Axe is a compact and versatile axe for camping and domestic use. As with the other models in the series, the axe head is made from 1055 carbon steel in the Rhineland style. There are also three key differences: While the Small and Big models have robust and universal axe grinds, the cutting edge of the Origin Mini Axe has a polished blade grind, which also enables utility carving work such as stick feathering. The axe head is also left with a forged rough surface. Finally, long-fibre ash wood is used for the handle, which, unlike hickory, transmits less vibration to the axe-wielding hand. In the days when domestic cookers were still fuelled by wood, this type of axe was used for chopping small firewood, as required for outdoor cooking fires. The older trade name kitchen axe dates from this time. The leather sheath 09BO257 is not included and can be ordered separately. Warning and safety information:Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
